I have a Sony Bravia TV (Model KDL-40V2500) and a panasonic DVD recorder bought in Montreal, Canada. Will they be useable in the UK when I return home in June? The TV has a plate on the back indicating that it is 50/60HZ and 110/240v. Sony technical services in the USA and Canada have been unhelpful.

Sounds like they will turn on as they should be able to cope with UK electricity. But I'd guess that the UK TV signal is different to the Canadian one, so they probably won;t be able to pick up any TV transmissions.. You could buy a Freeview box for £20-£50 when you get to the UK and connect that to your TV, which should let you watch Tv, but your DVD recorder might not be much use here if you use it to record TV. Hope that helps.

Thanks, Jason: would it work with a Sky box do you think?
