Guys, it's like this. Apple are and always will be nobs. Copy and Paste could be likened to a second mouse button, you can live without it but life is just nowhere near as easy. When the marketing monkeys at Mac central specced the device, they knew people would want C&P but as they themselves thought it did not fit the software design asthetic, they left it out. After using one for a year or so they realised that it was a mistake and one that was already being addressed by Cydia apps for jailbroken phones, so they came up with All new cut, copy and paste and the fanboys applauded them. For this remarkable development, they have decided to charge IPod Touch users, who will at least in theory be using the feature marginally less than IPhone users because they don't have 3G access.

In years to come when Apple finally admit that their mice are %$^&*ing stupid and start putting a second button on new ones, you will have to pay for the new mouse too.

Here's a thought. Jobs steps down, iPhone gets a common sense feature. Coincidence? wink

To be fair, the Shuffle defies common sense in the first place. Want a compact MP3 player that you can go jogging with? There are plenty of alternatives that show you don't need to sacrifice a screen. It's a useless gimmick.

As I said earlier and in agreement with Dave, Ipod Touch should never have been released. It was really an action by Apple to screw a few extra people they couldn't get with their nasty expensive cell phone contracts.

Pokeh, sell it and get an Archos 5, as a media player it wins by a lot and put the new IPhone on your Xmas list.

Selling my Touch would be difficult to do because my name's been engraved on the back of it.

As for the iPhone... i'll pass. I've usd my dads T-Mobile G1 and i'm rather fond of Android. I should probably read-up on the Palm Pre as well.

The Palm Pre will definitely take nerd-world by storm, whether that is replicated by the world at large is another matter. Whatever passes for the app store with Web OS is also key to success. What makes the IPhone good is only partly down to the physical device. The way it integrates with ITunes and the massive amount of apps that have been developed for it are what might keep it on top.

After all that moaning about paying out a tenner for an OS upgrade you are now saying that your IPod Touch was a gift? Stop b!tching and shell out the tenner, you have 3 months to save up for it or jailbreak it and install the Cydia equivalent for free.

I didn't say that the iPod Touch was a gift. I paid for it myself.

Also, as I said, i'm unemployed and have no money coming in. I need to spend the money that I have left wisely.

Spending a tenner on copy & paste = not wise.

You paid for it yourself and you had your name engraved on it!

Jailbreak your iPhone case. Then, you can save a lot $$ when downloading.

I wanna buy an iPhone for my girlfriend and found Gadget-Asia.

I submitted a ticket to them and asked some questions about iPhone. They told me they can unlock the iPhone for me.

So, I'm considering to buy an iPhone of firmware 2.2.2 from them.
