Dear blog,
I didn't win a bedroom make over, but I did get a competition prize in the post yesterday, which is nice as I never win anything as a rule. I got a ceramic tile with my current Twitter avatar (same as here) printed on it (this was the competition).

In other news, I had an article published on another site, (yeah, I'm moonlighting), and I'm really pleased with the feedback that it got. Link

Dear blog,
My blog uses a plugin to show a list of related posts whenever someone is reading a single post on my blog. Ever since I added a customisation so that each related post has its own thumbnail, the average time people spend on my blog has gone up 25%, according to Google Analytics. In addition to that, page views per visit is up 3.4% and the bounce rate is down by 4.4%.

... and according to Feedburner, I have more RSS subscribers than I've ever had. They've more than doubled.

Just goes to show how we all respond to images more than text.

Dear Blog,

After some tests, I have now removed Windows from my Compaq laptop and now running 100% Ubuntu 9.10

For those tempted to try Linux, this is the time, Ubuntu have always tried to make it easy to get into Linux but now have hit the nail on the head with 9.10, it is great

I'm tempted to do this actually, but I might get a netbook and put it on there. I can't really detatch myself from Windows at the moment, as I imagine a lot of the university services need windows.

I might just dual-boot with WUBI, though
