Hi, you guys have all experienced what I have, but in my case with Epson printers. The absorption tray; the new printer not containing full cartridges, the cost of repair, etc etc. I got the next Epson up from my last one and too late discovered I can't print onto my inkjet acetate! How is that an improvement? I'm going backward! I will have to pass this one onto my kids and I'm looking for a new printer. Can anyone recommend one that will scan detailed colour artwork or from a PC prints of high quality in archival ink, as I'm so over listening to the sales people and I can't possibly take in all the technology:- ppm, dpi...arrrgh! I just need it to scan and print beautifully. I can make my own breakfast.
Thanks for reading this!

Any really good inkjet printer should do the job, but it all depends, most printers are 4 tank, but the better ones are 6 tank, you also want to make sure that the ink used is Black, Magenta Cyan and Yellow for 4 tank, in 6 tank models, I'm not sure they are, but I've an idea it's two shades of Magenta and two shades of Yellow, with Black and Cyan.

If you can get a printer with photo colour it's even better.

Just remember to steer clear of any RGB printers, they're mostly out of date now but the Red Green blue ink tends to give the print a "washed out" appearance.

You will have to decide but it all boils down to how much you're willing to pay, Don't be fooled by the old adage of "you only get what you pay for". I have a good 4 tank (BMCY) Canon printer, it's a Pixma iP3300, but you should be able to get one more up-to-date than that, for about the same as I paid (around £50).

Steer clear of laser printers, you'll need to get a really expensive one to get what you need, I think you'll be better off with a really good inkjet printer.

I bought a really good A3 colour printer the other day and it wasn't to much either as it is inkjet.

First though Brother let you send them an image and they will print it off for you and send you the copy to see the quality.
