Stereo hi-fi amp?

Hi i have a question about budget hifi amps.

i have found these two

but am unsure on anything to do with hifi's, i would like to be able to connect my mp3 player and a seperate cd system via phono.

I have speakers, old technics model, and i am also looking to add a sub in there. Any suggestions?

The Tangent is more flexible as it has a remote control, you can use a sub woofer and it has a phono stage (which you need if you have a turntable). None of these are the case with the Cambridge audio.

Regardless of which you choose there should be no issue plugging the MP3 Player, you just need to get a 3.5mm mini jack to RCA plug cable. They will both obviously accept the CD player. You don't have to stop at the CD and MP3 Player though, they both accept four inputs so you could plug your TV receiver and PC into it as well.

yeah ive decided on the tangent, gonna be picking that up in store soon hopefully.

now ive just got to decide on a sub, the amps rated at 40w so does this mean i have to pick a sub that goes either up to or below 40w? im veryyy confused at the moment.

anyone got any suggestions of good ones, can go to roughly £100 (just been paid and im feeling pretty loaded)

The Tangent has a pre-amp output which can be used for a sub or power amps, so I think you need to get a active or powered sub, ie it has its own amp which can be as big as you want or can afford.
