Yeah, I'm paying attention to the browsing, because while I don't use mobile data that much, there will be odd days here and there where I do, and I don't want to get stung.

This £1 a day sounds great, especially if I'm pulling down lots of images on Google Maps, but is the only difference between this and the web bolt-on being the £1 charge?

Have you tried Billmonitor? It analyses your spend and suggests tariffs based on your usage. Saved my partner a lot of money recently.

Vodafone my foot.

The HTC Magic is great - but it's not worth the 18 or 24 month contract Vodafone want you on.

My advice would be to go with Simplicity on o2. If you need a handset - just buy an unlocked one, you'll more than likely not be any worse off.

O2 offer a number of pretty decent deals - including one with 600 minutes, 1200 text messages and either unlimited web or unlimited wifi. I'd suggest that for the asking price of £20 - that's pretty reasonable.

Vodafone can bite me. After my years of service, all they would offer was a 12-month tie in for £20 with their craptacular 500mb internet thing thrown in.

I would argue that it's a damn site better value than the O2 iPhone contracts and to me, the phone is as good
