Looking for a "Mum phone"

Well, since I've been talking about new phones & contracts, my Mum is getting in on the act.

She's currently on Vodafone Smart Step, and she's using a Sony Ericsson K700i, which was handed down from me.

She hates this phone, primary complaints being on screen text is too small to read, and she doesn't like the keypad. I've offered to give her my Nokia E51 if I get a new handset but she feels it would be wasted on her.

I'll probably get her a PayG SIM from whatever network I join, but I'm wondering what handset would be best for her.

Any suggestions?
Thanks.

fairly awesome mum phone. my old dear has the older version (old skool black and white screen) and loves it. Simple as, basic keypad with big buttons. Simple interface. Job done.

there's a new LG phone that has larger buttons and isn't feature-packed. I'll tweet you the link when I find out more about it

I reviewed the LG KF300 recently and it's a real 'mum' phone -- really large buttons, adjustable font size and it's a flip phone, which mums love because it's easy to answer and hang up.

It doesn't have many features, which is why it only rates a 6.6 (good), but I think it's a great mum phone and it's very affordable.

This is the one I linked Dave to over twitter, but If I remember correctly it was only available on Orange and we were looking for a mobile on the same network (Vodafone, was it?)

I also would recommend this phone as a mum phone but Nokia is a really easy system for an old mum to get used to, if you get the right one.
