Steve Jobs has just announced the iPhone 3G, a pretty impressive upgrade over the original:

-3G, supposedly 36% faster than the Nokia N95

-GPS for sat-nav stuff

-Thinner

-iPhone 2.0 firmware for downloadable apps

-'More affordable' although he hasn't announced deals or UK availability yet. $199 in the US for an 8GB version.

So what do you think?

No price today, the UK price will be announced tomorrow morning.

It will be available on 11 July.

I like the thinner design - wonder what battery life is going to be like after you've used Wi-Fi and GPS for a bit.

It's quite good battery but it'll drain it on 3G but wi-fi should be okay I imagine.
But GPS will suck the powers of the battery like rogue which will be silly because you need GPS for long trips..

Ill be getting it, it will be interesting to see how it will work for current iPhone customers, I would pay upto about 170 for it, roll on July 11th!!
