If you took the contract after the change then there is not a lot you can do (likewise if you try to leave now cause it's so long after the event).

If they are offering to reduce the bill by £15 per month, I'd take them up on it

Hi,
I've been arguing with Three for a week now. This also happened 18 months ago and now I'm back to square one trying to cancel my contract. They're offering me either a £200 voucher or a Nokia N97 if I renew. I'm actually only paying £5 a month (they deduct £25 each month) which includes 300 txts and 800 minutes or so. I figure the N97 could be sold for around £300 and the contract itself will cost me £90 over 18months. 12 months would be £30 less so not much difference.
ANYWAY...it's gone past the value for money issue. It's now a matter of principle. They're very pushy on the phone and I'm tired of them not taking no for an answer. Not to mention the constant "...Sir do you see my point? Sir do you understand what I'm offering you here.."! Forget all the 'highly valued customer' baloney.
But then the sensible person in me thinks it's easier to just keep my number, get the new Nokia, sell it and carry on paying £5/month. Probably less than I usually pay with a PAYG sim anyway. BUUUT...the bill is NEVER just £5/month...I always manage to notch up a substantial amount on numbers that aren't landlines or other 3 mobiles.
Hmm...and to top it off, Tesco mobile have an unlimited sim for £30 a month, 02 et al will follow suit. There's a fair usage policy with a cap of £500 on these sims. So I sense the wind is changing direction and I should get out of my contract now!
The decision has been made...I'll call the b*astards later and announce my departure.
It's a shame Three don't have the iPhone... smile

hi, im not sure wether anyone can help but its wortha shot!!

basically i have about 8 months of my 3 phone contract left... it was an 18 month contract... so ive had it 10 months!! anyway about 2 weeks ago my phone started loosing all power... so i replaced the battery it wasnt the battery... the last two days ive spent battling with three to get it one in for repairs and two a replacement handset... im insured

first of all i was told by an online advisor id need to book it in online except their service was down... i was told i wouldnt get a replacement handset they didnt do this... (liar)

i was then told that i could go instore and sort out the repair there... so i went to my local store where i was told yet more lies... they wouldnt sort out the repairs there because i had no proof of pruchase with me (liar) (i had my phone... my number... and my name and any id they could of wanted... he could of used his computer to do it)

he then continued to tell me that i wouldnt get a replacement handset anyway as id purchased my phone and contract online (liar)

He then told me i had to phone the 333 number to speak to somone as this was the only way it could be dealt with (liar)

so i rang this number and was basically asked to the technicians job for him... i told him i wouldnt i pay insurance and i pay my contract why couldnt he just send me out an envelope to send it to a repairs centre... he said he could do that... so i asked about my replacement handset he said id have to go to a store for it... so i told him ive been to one (lincoln) and was told you dont do it and they wouldnt send my phone off from store because of (above)... so then he says have you been grantham ill ring them and find out if they have a handset (bear in mind its an hour trip from lincoln to grantham... and lincoln is a city and grantham is town) he comes back if you can get to grantham today ive reserved you handset i basically told this wasnt acceptable... id already spent half my day chasing round.

so i get home and ring 3 who basically tell me the same lies as above i ask to speak to the manager who tells me the only way to sort it out is to ring the insurance company tomorrow and get a new handset... this is after she has told me id have to pay for it and a claim back the handset price... i told her it wasnt acceptable and im not doing that... she replied i was being uncooperative so i told her that was it i was cancelling the contract and to expect a letter... as i think spending as long as i did trying to sort it is co- operation enough

I was wondering if anyone as any advice on drafting a letter that incorporates this all and if i can actually say they havent provided me with the service im paying for and what legal terms etc i could possibly use

You are to late I'm afraid. You will now have to run the contract to the end.

Moderator's please lock this thread, it is no longer of use as its too late for anyone to do this now
