Whatever you do, STAY AWAYfrom the BlackBerry Storm unless you want to loose your hair in a hurry!!! After researching the BlackBerry market, I foolishly chose the Storm and it has given me nothing but grief since January this year. It has been sent in to Vodafone for repair 3 times (total waste of time) and after writing a complaint letter to Vodafone's CEO, they replaced the old handset with a new one and it still is a pile of rubbish. If you read reviews on this phone, most people complain about the short battery life (IE. you have to keep charging the phone regularly) That's the least of my problems. The phone keeps "freezing" and now the screen doesn't register properly and the only way to get it working is to remove the battery and re-insert it (re boot the system) After complaining to Vodafone AGAIN, they have decided to take back this pathetic excuse of a BlackBerry and replace it with another model. Hopefully this will be the end of all this nonsense. You would be well advised to research other models as the BlackBerry Storm is nothing but a problem and it will give you all sorts of grief. When I spoke to Vodafone the last time, even the chap I spoke to said that he had experienced too many problems with his BlackBerry Storm. That's a comment from a Vodafone employee. What does that tell you about this useless piece of junk?

Is this the original storm model or the new storm2 - The storm2 seems to be incredibly popular as most seem to think it has all the kinks worked out. I only used the storm2 for a few minutes instore but it seems to be much smoother

Be aware that I took a 2 yr contract out on a Blackberry Storm 2 through PHONES 4 U. Bad mistake as the Storm 2 crashed froze and wiped all my contacts off it in just a few days. I took it back and ended up with a blackberry curve 8900 after refusing another storm 2. I was told i could not have any other make as the contract with vodafone is in aliance with blackberry. On consulting vodafone they said they would gladly remove the blackberry side of the contract. I contacted Phones 4 u to tell them but they wont replace the 8900 for another phone of my choice and gave me a huge amazing £20 compensation for having to spend the next few hundred hours trying to source a lifetime of contacts. I have bought phones through Phones 4 u for years and not even a long standing customer relationship will get them to budge on their so called policy. Vodafone told me that they would of allowed me any smart phone replacement for my troubles. So whats the conclusion here. Mine is that i will never buy a phone through an agency of Vodafone i will deal with Vodafone direct by high street store or internet store. I will never buy from Phones 4 u as their so called customer services comes under the heading of joke department. Its your call but once bitten twice shy.... Phones 4 u = Joke on u

Having used the Storm 2 for two weeks i can report that the battery life is very poor. I often had to charge it at noon and then early evening. The sure type texting method is hard work. I was not impressed with the apps department. The phone is not all bad news as it looks very nice and appears to be well constructed. Would i have another after the problems previously described.. no chance.
