Hi, Just recently when I've been watching DVD's the picture sometimes freezes, after a few jerky seconds the player sorts itself out and the film continues, some DVD's seem worse then others. The DVD's do come from LoveFilm so they may not be in perfect condition but just recently it seems to be happening more often. Can this be a problem with the player? Do they become more prone to things like this when they get older? The player is a Phillips DVP5100 2/3 years old Regards, Ben

I don't think it is old enough.

They should last a lot longer that, but inevitably they do go wrong eventually. You could try a cleaning disc - if that doesnt work and its not the source, then unfortunately its knackered.

It is not a problem with Phillips DVP5100 and they have a longer working life. You the problem persists, you may go for disc cleaning.
