Hiya Folks...
Can anybody enlighten me as to why when i record to DVD from the TV, only the first programme on the disc will play on other DVD players in the house please? All titles are played on mine (being the recorder) but it will only show the first title recorded on our family DVD player downstairs (which isn't an expensive one). The title picture is shown and they're all listed but it doesn't even sound like it's searching to get to that title when i press play. There is no fault with the Daewoo recorder itself, but wondering if i've done the set-up wrong when recording. Any guidance is appreciated...Thank you!!!

When your disc is full, look for an option in the menus to "finalise" the disc. This might solve the problem of it not playing back on other machines in the house.

Hi, Thanks for that...i shall wait until the disk is full then although it does say it's finalising it just as it ejects....I can work round it like record to Hard drive, then if something i've recorded wants to be watched downstairs, just transfer it on to a DVD then so it's the first one up...there is a "make compatible" button which i press but it states it's already compatible...i'm now wondering if there is a way to avoid things being separated by titles so it's more continuous playback...which is a as much a nuisance if that is possible...may be by altering progressive/interlace section??? No idea! ;0) Thanks again Ian.

Hmm, it's odd that it's behaving like that. If it finalises when you take the disc out, I'd imagine that would play in most DVD players -- as long as they support the type of recordable media you are using.

Once a disc is finalised, I don't believe it can be written to again. So if the Daewoo says its finalising, but you can still write more data to it, it's probably lying to you smile

Hi...well i changed the disk to a new one but of the same make, took the option off to form chapters and it seems fine...i'm not sure if it's the fact i tried a new disk or the chapter option that did it but it seems to load the various titles now on our old DVD player. And the Disks the older DVD player wasn't reading also have now started loading but they are the ones that need finalising so i can't record to that after nope. I shall try putting the option for chapters back on later i think and try it again...so for now...all seems tickety boo....thank you.
