Was just reading through "30 years of the Sony Walkman" which, although awesome, forgot to give Mini-Disc a mention! That's just criminal :D

Although it is considered a flop it still deserves a mention :D

They were amazing players to have just before flash/hard drive based players became a good option. The ability to store a load of high quality Atrac/MP3 albums on a tiny disc, read track/album/artist details, tranfering music over optical from a PS2 etc And i swear none of the players i've owned since match it in audio quality :D

No matter how much people loathed Sonicstage software, being able to download songs with WinMX/Kazaa and transfer them over to a Mini-Disc was epic :D

Mini-Disc FTW wink

Mini-discs were awesome, and at the time, mp3 players where ultimately crud!!
I even had one of the 1st Sony mp3 walkmans, I think it was called the nw-hd1 or something. It was immense, still better looking than anything else that has come along sinse I rekon. But yeah, sonicstage was the bane of my life!!!
