Sennheiser IE7 for classical and jazz? If not, what then?

Hey all,
I know that the typical choice for classical music is the Etymotic line. But i just find them so uncomfortable (I have the ER6i). I like the clear, analytical sound, but I could handle a little warmer. But what I don't like is the deep insertion! First time putting them in is fine; second time is painful. I listen to music less because of the difficulty...
So far, I've upgraded to the Audeo Phonak PFE. They were a little wamer but still clear. Quite good for both classical and jazz. And very comfortable. But, as you may have heard, there have been lots of quality issues w/ the PFE. Although Audeo has been treating people well, I returned them since I was already having quality issues (Crackling, broken filters) w/i the first 14 days.
So my question is, how do you think the IE7 would do with classical music? I feel like I'm running out of options for really stellar iem's that aren't deep insertion. I'm totally open to suggestions. So far, I've stayed on the lower end of the iem price, but I'm enjoying music so much more, since going to lossless files and high quality phones, that I'm willing to consider anything that is really comfortable and fantastic for classical music (and jazz).
Thanks a ton!
Isaiah

I'm sure the other guys will be able to answer this better than I but, a few questions that might help us all. Is this mostly for listening on the move, by which I mean do you want in-ear cans or would over-ear can work fine; what is your top limit price wise?

Thanks for the request for clarification! I want to stick to in-ear since I'm only really listening to lossless files off my ipod classic. I would like to stay under the $200 price point, but I'm pretty much willing to start selling stuff if the only options are even more! (That's why I'm interested in the IE7; I can get it new for about $170 right now.) But pretty much I'm totally open to any universal, even the high cost ones. Worse comes to worse, I'll stay content with my ER6i until I save money if I need to! I do like the idea of more shallow instead of deep insertion. (Anyone whose tried the ER6i will know what I mean by deep insertion; not bad the first time, just a pain to reinsert or listen too for too long.) I want something I could listen to for 4-5 hours at a time and are still comfortable if I have to take them out several times!
To summarize, most people recommend the ER4p as the next upgrade for my tastes but I want something a little warmer and much more comfortable!

Think you may have to wait for Nate to get back from his days off

Did you catch the answer to this on the podcast?

Its a shame about the PFEs as they are very good, apart from obviously the build quality (mine seem to be broken as well). I know this may be a bit late, but you could try the monster turbines.

Hi there have you tried having some moulded tips made for your ER6, probably the cheapest option and more to your requirements. Try www.customearphones.co.uk www.hearingprotection.co.uk

thanks
