I am looking to spend up to around £100 on a new mp3 player. I want it to produce a high quality sound and be at least 8Gb. I also want it to able to use BBC iPlayer What would you recommend (other than an ipod)?

Hello i bought a samsung Q1 with 16 gig for 90 quid , id seen and used a friends ipod nano and thought id get one ,anyway i couldnt find a 16 gig ipod anywhere so got the samsung and saved a lot of money and found the software a dodle and personally i think its much better in every way . if you go down this route use its own software (emodio disc supplied} to transfer music files cos windows media player lacks sound quality . just recently compared both and told my mate to chuck his ipod nano in a skip ,cos in every way the samsung is is a far better bit of kit . have downloaded bbc podcasts onto it and a few music vieos , but havent done iplayer tv. cant see it being a problem though.

Thanks for the reply mate. I can't seem to be able to find the right Q1. They seem about £400. Any chance you could post a link? Cheers

You can't use the device to access iPlayer, if that's what your intentions were. You have to download TV shows from the iPlayer website on your PC and then sync the device with Windows Media Player. If you want something with the iPlayer site access that isn't an iPod touch then you're going to have to get a mobile phone, but the YP-Q1 will play TV shows as long as you download them on your PC first.
