Hi Nate,
Just read about the new features for the 3.0 firware update for ipod touch. However, one of the features which i think would be quite a big marketing feature (in terms of quirkiness) appears to be missing. Is it likely that the voice control features shown off for the iphone 3gs could be implemented into the ipod touch 3.0 software (i.e. control the music with voice via the microphone on the remote)? Also, i saw a bit about the bluetooth funtionality, what sort of things are going to be possible with this?
Many thanks

It would have to be a hardware upgrade so you would need a new one but of course it would be possible.

Good questions. I shall ask Apple for you.

Right, I had a chat with one of the girls at Apple, who answers:

Will the peer to peer functionality work with iPod touches? And will it work between an iPhone and an iPod touch?

Apple: Yes.

Will iPhone OS 3.0 let iPod touch users use the voice control feature when used with the new Apple headphones?

Apple: No. Voice Control is a feature of iPhone 3G S rather than OS 3.0

Hope this helps.
