help with downloading stuff onto my cowon s9 PLEASE!

I have just bought a Cowon s9 which is great however I find the manual useless when trying to download stuff, I am not too savvy with computers and stuff however using the jetaudio I converted the 24 series and thought I had put it on the Cowon, it shows up in the video section but when I try to access it it shows no numbers on the counter at the bottom and in the centre of the screen there is a dull tick and a glowing red "no entry sign". Also I converted all my music off the ipod and put it on the Cowon, it transferred over ok except the music is all over the place and not in blocks as with the ipod, any ideas please I am at my wits end.
