Hello, I'm Rich Trenholm, CNET UK's camera reviewer. On the rest of the site, writing about cameras is my domain, but here it's all about you. We want to hear your thoughts and your questions on all things related to digital cameras and photography.

Whether you're a beginner looking for some advice or an expert looking to share your wisdom, this is the place to get involved. We want to know what you think about the latest models, what features you think are great or a waste of time, and whether you think Canon/Nikon/Kodak/Ricoh/compacts/superzooms are best. Photography tips are welcomed too.

Keep it friendly, keep it clean, and keep it CNET!

Hi Rich, We have a very Good Nikon D70 DSLR camera, no complaints or problems its brilliant!! What I would like though is a VERY lightweight compact for when I'm out and about or at the park with my 18 month old daughter. I want it to fit in my handbag, have at least 7mpixels and good picture quality.. Its not important about flash card or accessories, its just a spare one for me. What is important to me though is the delay (the time it takes from pressing the picture to when it actually takes), my sister has one and the delay is about 2 seconds (which is no good when daughter is on swing). Oh.. and a bonus but not necessity is if it has a viewfinder rather than screen which I think are useless on a sunny day.

Heya Richard

I'm new to this just to say.
I need some tips for a new digital camera.
At the moment iv have a HP R507 Photosmart Camera.
Iv nearly had it for 4 years now.
The battery life on it is awful!
It only needs to take a few pictures with the flash the battery will just drain so fast.
Also the flash isn't that good as well for example when im taking pictures in the dark outside the pictures don't come out that well.
It gets worse but i don't want to go on.
Basically whats the best digital camera out there with the longest battery life?
Also whats the overall best Digital camera out there at the moment?

Regards

Adam

as good as it looks.

Will you be doing a review on this camera.
Thanks.

I am looking for a new camera for working use.
I take pictures of non-moving objects, such as ceramic pots.
I want a camera to take high definition shots normally from a distance of 18 to 40 inches away.
The less buttons and extra features the better.
Ability to use remote control is good.
Price range £100 - £400
Can anyone give advise please

Hello! I've been reading up on cameras on-line for days now, and am a bit fazed. Is there a compact digital camera that combines the self-timer with burst mode? It would be good to just click on the self-timer button and get a few shots, without going back to the camera. Also, what camera is best for low light settings eg gigs etc? (Using the flash on my old camera made the pics look over-lit.) And finally.. do all cameras have this 'beauty mode' I've been reading about? (It retouches minor blemishes, apparently.) Is it the same as the 'face detection' feature? If there's a camera that incorporates all these things, and is under £150, I'll be dead chuffed..
Thanks,
Beth x

Hi, I have a canon ixus 100is digital camera, but I think it may not be working properly. I want to use some of the settings on the FUNC. SET menu, but the up and down arrows are not working meaning I can't select any of the options such as, My Colours, Sub Shooting Mode, ISO, White Balance and so on... so I can only go left and right on the Image Size setting. I was wondering whether there was something you could suggest, or whether it is just a problem with the camera itself? Thankyou
