I'll mostly be using it for point and shoot but would like the option to go a bit more advanced if I felt the urge to. In terms of image quality is it worth spending the extra for the fs7? Looking through the specs I can't actually see a difference between the fs7 and fs62. Would I be better off with the cheaper fs62?

I personally think FS7 is better. I had a panasonic camera FX7 and it lasted me years. Quality. God knows how many times i dropped it on the floor. Strong. I normally purhcase all my cameras stuff at wolu. They do very good deals, fast delivery and customers support. They are doing 124.95 of FS7 in black and silver.
