Hi People,
recently i got a panasonic TZ-5....great camera....heres the problem..

i do a lot of action shots mainly of horses...and need a very cheap DSLR (TZ-5 dosnt capture the shot fast enough) for around £150 - 200
please dont complain about the budget not being enough, im just wondering if i can and where to get one.

The quality really dosnt matter (or the MP) so......any suggestgions???

Hey Oliver,

I think for that price range you would have to consider a very old second hand dlsr which has a lower megapixel rating etc. frown

I think you would be better suited to what is called a bridge camera. Its slr styled but slightly smaller and has a few less features, but tends to have larger zooms thanks to the fixed lens.

In that price range you have a few options

Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD at £180 roughly

Canon Powershot a720is at £150 Roughly (although not a bridge camera, it offers high shutter speed and a 6x zoom, i own one and love its form factor/manual features

Canon PowerShot SX110 £180

Personally i would consider the fujifilm as it look like it best caters to your needs/price point

hope this helps and good luck!

sorry mate, i've used bridge camera's and compacts but they really don't cut it for me...i did look at bridge camera's and spoke to a pro photographer and he said "don't bother".....no idea why.

its gotta be an slr....sorry people

You could get a Canon EOS 300D with the 18-55mm kit lens on ebay for about £200, but I'd try to pick up an EOS 20D body for £230 because of the faster shot to shot rate and better autofocus, then buy a Sigma or Tamron lens for it.

There's not a lot of choice at that price point.

It might be very difficult at the moment. You can try to get a second hand DSLR kit with lens. however, you may be tempted to upgrade it from time to time with lens, flashes etc. I guess I will get a D40 Nikon to be the entry level
