My Pc cant see my videos

I am a complete newbie, I have bought a panasonic HDC SD9 camcorder, the cd supplied has been installed and appears to be working apart from one major problem. My still photos are recognised and I have no problem in saving and viewing them - BUT if I try to access my videos the programme tells me that there is nothing recorded. I can view these videos perfectly on the lcd screen but desperately need to get them onto a dvd or at least onto my laptop. Please can someone offer me some advice?Tm-Cam
